Memorial Weekend and a little news

As Memorial weekend approaches, I am reminded of those who fought and gave their lives to ensure the freedom's that make the United States of America a unique and glorious nation! It is a time to reflect, and to say, "Thank You", whether it be private, quietly, or directly to a Veteran, or a surviving family member of a Veteran.

It is a time for family, fun, and the wonderful smell of a back yard Bar-B-Que. For many it is considered the beginning of summer.

In my last blog, I shared how outdoor artificial foliage, is a great way to add life and color to your world! Red geraniums are a great way to add color, and a patriotic feel to the outdoors, and you won't have to worry about remembering to water them, or getting your hands dirty! Remember, outdoor foliage is available in many varieties. The possibilities are endless!

In my last blog, I featured Artists, Marcia McNamee and Leslie Slape. Now, I want to tell you about Natalie Baca and Charlotte C. Nobles. Each time I look at one of their pieces, I see something new and/or different than the last.

Natalie, creates unique collage pieces incorporating broken pottery pieces and different "found" objects. The "Imagine" mirror to the left is an expample of her work. I think this piece would make a great gift for someone special, or for yourself!

Charlotte crafts fused glass art jewelry items and unique serving pieces. Her jewelry pieces are all lovely fashion statements, and her serving pieces will add extra appeal to a special dish or meal. The serving pieces to the right can be used for a serving a salad, or separately.

I need to finish some arrangements, and get ready for the weekend. As a reminder, the store will be closed on Monday, Memorial day. I hope you have a meaningful, safe and fun Memorial Weekend!
